How it works

Karaoke night, minus the booth, the app and the sound-alike backing tracks. Here is everything that happens between typing a song title and holding the mic.

  1. Name a song

    Type what you want to sing on the front page — a title, an artist, or both — or paste a link or drop in an audio file. No account, no form: the next screen is a room with your song already queued.

  2. We take the singer out

    Spiffyk separates the original vocal from the music, so what plays is the actual recording you picked with the voice removed, not a sound-alike cover. A new song takes a little while the first time; after that it is ready instantly for everyone.

  3. The words keep time

    Lyrics are matched to the recording word by word, so each line lights up the moment you are meant to sing it. Follow the glow and you stay on the beat.

  4. Bring your people

    Send the room link. Everyone who opens it joins on camera and microphone, hears the same song at the same second, and can queue what is next, chat and react. Rather not be on camera? Go as a 3D avatar or a neon filter that follows your face.

  5. Sing, get scored

    Reverb and echo sit on your voice while you sing, and every take is scored on how close you got to the original melody, so the room has a leaderboard to argue about.

  6. Keep the good one

    Record a take and it becomes a clip with its own page, a poster frame and a looping GIF. Share it to the feed and anyone can watch it, post it to TikTok or a group chat, and tap one button to sing the same song themselves.

Tips for a good night

  • Wear headphones. With speakers the music leaks back into your microphone and everyone hears it twice.
  • Queue a few songs up front. A song nobody has sung here before takes a moment to prepare the first time. Queue it early and it is ready by the time it comes round.
  • Pass the mic. Everyone hears the same song at the same second, so duets and backing vocals across different cities actually line up.
  • Record the one you nailed. Clips come with a poster frame and a looping GIF, sized for a group chat or a TikTok.
